Dental Imaging

Dental imaging is often used for diagnosis and treatment planning. They provide dentists with highly detailed images of teeth, jaw bones, airways, nerves, blood vessels, and soft tissues.
With our tool, the Planmeca ProMax® 3D Classic, a clear view of the mandible and maxilla is captured making it an excellent option for full arch dental 3D imaging needs.

What to expect ?

Procedure Duration: Case dependent

Dr. Karpaham and our team will first give you a consultation and analyze if you require a 3D CBCT for your treatment. Should your situation require a 3D CBCT, we will inform you and make the necessary preparations for it.

A 3D panoramic scan of your head, neck, and jaw usually takes about 14 seconds.

During the procedure, you'll either stand or sit, and our specialists will guide you into the right position to center the area of interest.

It's important to stay still while the scanner moves around your head.

We have handles for your grip to help you stay comfortable and use a small stabilizing mouthpiece or chin rest bite block to minimize any movement.

The process is non-invasive and completely pain-free. You will be able to return to your normal activities once the scan is complete.

Should you have any uncertainties regarding the necessity of a 3D CBCT scan, we invite you to schedule a consultation with our team. We are dedicated to providing informed guidance tailored to your specific needs

Is 3-D dental scan necessary?

3D dental scans can help dentists diagnose and plan treatment for oral health concerns. 3D images are more detailed and can show the complex anatomy of a root canal system. They can also help dentists identify teeth that need to be shifted for proper alignment. Other key benefits include :

  • Early detection: 3D scans can help dentists detect dental conditions early, which can save patients from having to make many appointments.

  • Surgery planning: 3D scans can be used to plan for surgery, evaluate the jaw or sinuses, and even reconstructive surgery such as dental implants.

  • Avoiding damage: 3D scans can help dentists avoid damaging nerves and other vital anatomical structures during surgery.

  • Identifying airway constriction: 3D scans can help dentists identify airway constrictions that can cause sleep-disordered breathing and teeth grinding.
